More than 35 million low-income Americans live in households at risk of hunger which means our nation must make greater public investments in the full range of federal nutrition programs to address this problem.

NJ ranks 44th out of the 50 states and District of Columbia on annual School Breakfast Scorecard

During the 2006-2007 school year, 118,673 low-income New Jersey students participated in the national School Breakfast Program, according to the School Breakfast Scorecard 2007.  This was a modest 2 percent increase over last year’s participation rate, giving New Jersey a low rank of 44th in the nation.
