Chubb Group Insurance Companies’ Silent Auction a Fantastic Success

The Community FoodBank is fortunate to have special partnerships with many corporate groups who donate their volunteer time and funds to help those in need.  One of our newest partners came aboard this May: The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

Mark Korsgaard, Worldwide Casualty Claims Manager, asked Penny McGuire, VP, Home Office Casualty Claims Deptartment, to find a charity for them to support.  With the approval of Dino Robusto, Worldwide Claim Officer, the FoodBank was adopted as their charity of choice.  Penny came up with the idea to do a silent auction with the theme “Be An Everyday Hero.”  Her team secured donated items such as wine baskets, jewelry, entertainment packages, framed prints, professional sports tickets, etc.  Two of the most popular  items were a “Chubb Casual Day” and a “Special Parking Space at Chubb for a Month.”

The results were amazing: Chubb employees bid on over 200 items, raising $21,000.  Penny said, “This was all done with no budget.  People stepped up, were creative and got into the spirit of giving.  It was fun!”

We welcome the Home Office Claim Department of Chubb into the FoodBank family and thank the coordinating team of Penny McGuire, Edd Creter, Tom Kerr, Pat S. Smith, Lorraine Siegel, Carole Weber and Don Barb for these great results.
