Kraft Partners with the FoodBank to Host Family Volunteer Day |
|
Kraft Foods observed Hunger Awareness Day by sending 12 pallets of kid-friendly Kraft products and a team of volunteers to our Family Volunteer Open House.
FoodBank Board member Michael Senackerib, a Senior VP at Kraft, along with his daughter Ariel, Angela Wiggins, Manager of Community Contributions, and the Kraft team stuffed 500 boxes for our Backpack Program to help children at risk of hunger over the weekend when school meals aren’t available.
On Family Volunteer Day, children as young as 6 were able to pitch in and help the FoodBank fight hunger. Left to Right: Leslie and Lia Ficaro, Augustus Valente and Kim Sevonty donned hairnets and gloves to repack beans into family-sized bags. That evening, Mike Senackerib invited all the volunteers to a picnic dinner provided by Kraft and prepared by the students in our own Food Service Training Academy.
