Panera Bread Supports Food Service Training Academy |
|
Panera Bread recently presented a check for $10,000 to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in support of its Food Service Training Academy. The Academy’s fourteen week program is for qualified applicants who are interested in a career in food services. It focuses on culinary arts, baking with hands-on training, cooking skills, and menu planning. All students accepted into the program are given full scholarships underwritten by grants and donations from a variety of sources. FSTA graduates leave with a diploma, a Serv-Safe certificate, membership in the American Culinary Federation, and in most cases, a job with benefits. Panera’s contribution will go toward offsetting expenses of the program’s curriculum and development of the next group of graduates. In addition to providing financial support, Panera Bread has also employed a few of the graduates into their baker organization. |
