This past November 19 and 20, the Ice Vault in Wayne hosted their second annual Hockey Fights Hunger loose change collection to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
Youth hockey players from the Jersey Bandits and Jersey Hitmen spent the weekend collecting loose change at the Ice Vault, going door to door in their neighborhoods, and collecting from family and friends. When all of the change was finally counted Hockey Fights Hunger raised $7,000.00.
The Bandit Bantam AA team raised $1,500.00, making them the winners of the team competition. They are an incredibly determined group of young men, both on and off the ice.
What a great testament to what hockey families are all about and what is possible when we all work together as a team.
