Community Kitchen

All food is prepared in our Community Kitchen by our dedicated staff and students from the  Food Service Training Academy.

One of the reasons for the creation of the The Community Kitchen was to put to good use food from supermarkets and wholesalers that might not have met retail standards – but was definitely good enough to eat.

Food that is now donated or purchased at low cost by the FoodBank, particularly produce and meat,  is used to create prepared products that can be frozen, stored, and offered to our partner agencies sometime in the future.  Examples are marinara sauce, mashed potatoes, shepherd’s pie, and vegetable soup.

The Community Kitchen is a registered trademark of Feeding America.
