The Children’s Place and Disney Stores Lend a Helping Hand!

On a cool Wednesday evening this past March an army of two hundred smiling and exuberant volunteers from the Children’s Place and Disney Stores arrived at the FoodBank with a single mission in mind – to get things done. Armed with willing hearts, keen hands, and vast retail expertise they quickly got to work. When the dust settled and the singing subsided, our Kid’s Closet had been transformed into a well stocked and neatly organized version of a Children’s Place store.

Highlights of the various accomplishments from the Children’s Place and Disney Store volunteers include:

  • Processing almost 20,000 units of new Children’s Place and Disney Store clothing.
  • Constructing eleven new shelving units.
  • Redesigning clothing display systems.
  • Reorganizing existing clothing storage.
  • Restocking empty shelves with new clothing.
  • Building teamwork and camaraderie amongst staff members.

When asked to comment on this exciting volunteer event, Richard Uniacke, Director of the Kids Division stated that “Their donations will allow us to serve so many deserving children who we just couldn’t reach. To be honest, this budding partnership is a dream come true.”
